In our first Close-Up segment with conductor and violinist Alejandro Pinzón, we learned about the unique history of the bandoneón and were treated to a performance of “A La Gran Muñeca.” Today, Pinzón plays the tango song “Sur,” an elegy for lost love. Relish its slow beauty below.

Pinzón is preparing for upcoming tours in Mexico and Nevada and will be performing in the Pittsburgh area this fall.
